HCC Distribution Backs Herne & Moffat's GRM Wildcard

HCC Distribution has announced it will feature as an associate sponsor on the Garry Rogers Motorsport (GRM) wildcard entry for this year's Repco Bathurst 1000, adding its branding to the #34 Chevrolet Camaro that will be shared by Trans Am Cup Series drivers Nathan Herne and James Moffat at Mount Panorama in October.

HCC Distribution, owners of the Trans Am Cup Series and TA2 Muscle Car Series in Australia recently launched hccdistribution.com, the motorsport parts and accessories division of the business, so given that both drivers are former Champions of the TA2 and Trans Am series, and with a high level of expected interest around the GRM Bathurst project, the Directors of the business felt it was a great opportunity to highlight the brand and also support a customer of HCC Distribution.

GRM confirmed its wildcard return in July, with the Valvoline backed Camaro, purchased from Triple Eight, set to be driven by 23-year-old Herne alongside experienced co-driver James Moffat, who brings 16 consecutive Bathurst 1000 starts to the pairing. The entry is a personal one for the team, coming in memory of late GRM owner Garry Rogers, who was a strong advocate for both drivers throughout their careers.

Herne, a two-time Trans Am Series champion, will make his Supercars debut at Bathurst after being denied the dispensation to race with GRM back in 2020. Moffat, who has finished on the Bathurst podium twice in his career, will mentor Herne through the weekend as the pair look to make an impression as a single-car wildcard entry.
